The winner of the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy was Narelle Rutter who had a very good 72 nett.
Due to the small field there was no runner-up prize but Jo Brown on 75 nett would have edged out Lyn Banks on a countback for second.
All these players won balls along with Judy Carmody.
Marie Murray had an easy birdie on the second when she hit her tee shot inside a metre and converted it for a six-ball birdie box haul.
June Jukes was a couple of metres from the pin on the 17th to win the NTP for the day.
On Thursday, April 13, the event will be an 18-hole stableford for a Doncaster Bistro Trophy.
In the third round of the ladies HRDGA Pennant played at The Vintage on Monday, April 3, the team continued its good form with a 5-1 win over Branxton.
Victories were recorded by Banks 6&5, Jukes 1 up, Kerry McLennan 3&1, Kathy Robinson 3&1 and Rutter 1 up, while Julie Leckie went down narrowly.
Scone, yet to be defeated, headed to Cypress Lakes to play them on their home course in a challenging match on Monday, April 10.
Round five will be at Branxton against Muswellbrook on April 24.
Four Scone players supported Aberdeen for their Open Day on Wednesday, April 5.
Banks, playing in her first Aberdeen Open, managed to win the scratch event by one shot from Caron Caldwell from Branxton in a field of 48.
The next ladies HRDGA Open Day will be The Vintage on May 9.
On Saturday, April 8, in ideal weather, the men played an 18-hole stableford for Clayton Rogers Trophy.
With the greens being cored and sanded it was more like a game on sand greens but this didn’t affect the leading scorers on the day, and the course will benefit greatly from the maintenance.
The A grade winner was Jake Teague who had 37 points while the B grade victor was Ross Higham, both players making welcome returns to the course after a layoff.
The C grade winner was a very happy David Bradshaw who also had 38 points which included a two on the 11th, and the NTP on the second at 2.03 metres.
Both Higham and Bradshaw won their grades on a countback from Brad Hockley and Lindsay Hodge respectively.
Balls went to those players plus Adam Russell 37, Ross Banks, Stuart Dawson 36, Jeff Harrington, John Roe, Scott Lye, Troy Collison 35 and Tim Smith 34 on a countback.
Jake Teague won the other NTP on the 8th/17th at 2.35 metres.
It was also round two of the R. J. Lowrie Cup and this was won by Adam Russell who had 77 points finish seven points ahead of runner-up Adrian Fuller.
In the ladies stableford Kerry McLennan played very well having 37 points to win the Scone RSL Group prize.
Balls went to Banks 36 and Yvonne Palmer 28 points.
On Saturday, April 15, the men will play an 18-hole stableford for the Curtis Gant Betts Trophy and it will be round two of the President’s Trophy.
The Kevans Knockout round one matches need to be played by Saturday, April 15.
The popular nine-hole Wednesday social competition has now transferred to Sunday since the end of daylight saving.
With play from the red tees, it is ideal for beginning players.
Players are requested to have cards returned to the bar by 3.30pm for a 4pm presentation.
This is open to all players and at only $10 per round and, with prizes on offer, this is a great way to spend a couple of hours on the weekend.
The winner on April 9 was Mitchell Casson with 19 points.
