13-year-old girl suffers severe burns following incident at Scone

A 13-year-old girl has suffered severe burns to her face following an incident at Scone on Monday morning.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew the teenage patient from John Hunter Hospital to the Westmead Children’s Hospital.

The youngster received the facial burns after an accelerant was thrown on a fire.

“It occurred in the Upper Hunter earlier this morning,” Westpac Rescue Helicopter Hunter region media liaison Barry Walton said.

“No other details are available at this time.”
