The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew the teenage patient from John Hunter Hospital to the Westmead Children’s Hospital.
The youngster received the facial burns after an accelerant was thrown on a fire.
“It occurred in the Upper Hunter earlier this morning,” Westpac Rescue Helicopter Hunter region media liaison Barry Walton said.
“No other details are available at this time.”
