Named in memory of Jack Johnston, one of the leading Scone Horse Festival organisers since its inception in 1980, the gala day features sheepdog, shearing, farrier and horse displays.
“This year, we’re hoping to have around 30 dogs competing,” event organiser Scott Bridge said. “The dog high jump at 11am and again around midday is the kids’ favourite. Stephen Wicks will be doing the shearing demonstrations. Brett Jones will give the farrier demonstrations. Mick Carey runs the heavy horse displays. And, Chris Caslick will be doing the Australian Stock Horse demonstrations.”
Gates open at White Park, in Scone, approximately 7.45am and competition starts 8am. Entry is free.
