Pedestrian and ramp access to the Scone Post Office will still be available during business hours, with small detours in place at times.
Upper Hunter Shire Council has notified neighbouring properties who may be impacted by a water shut down from approximately 10pm on Monday, May 22, to 3am on Tuesday, May 23, on Kelly Street between Scone Post Office and Coles.
The work involves an extension to link the water mains of Kelly Street and Liverpool Street to create a ring main.
This allows any future break in the main to be isolated and creates improved water pressure if the main is required for fire fighting.
There will be no impact on traffic arrangement, however drivers are urged to drive with care around the work site, which will include some night shifts by the contractor.
