This year a new competition, the Toprail Pinnacle, was run in conjunction with the normal club format and drew some of the top players from across the eastern side of the country.
Teams of six playing in the Toprail Pinnacle were capped at 50 points, with each player carrying a grade out of 10.
Amazing sponsorship and prizes were up for grabs and teams could be made up of players from any club or state, and even featured some international players.
Bunnan had five young members play in the Pinnacle competition; sisters Leah and Abbey Wilson in the Jake Stanford Harvesting Team, brothers Mitch and Joe Wamsley in the Arrowfield Stud Team and Michael Hockings in the Ranvet Momsen Motors Team.
The Wamsleys were in the winning intermediate mixed line-up and amazingly each member of their side came away with a brand new Hawkesbury River saddle.
Joe won Best No.3 to also pick up a Toprail Equine bridle and breastplate.
Hockings’ team ran out winners in the mixed competition and shared in $9000 prizemoney.
In the club fixtures, Bunnan’s D grade open team of Brent Morcom, Tegan Halsted, Mick Fitzgerald, Campbell Rose, Brad Fitzgerald and Clancy Martin were runners up.
The subbies squad of Angus Rose, Ben Patterson, Roy Lawler, Jordie Taffe and Darcy Taffe were also runners up.
Lauren Eather, Zac Ede and Brad Fitzgerald also played their first games as Bunnan members at Cassilis.
Bunnan will host its annual carnival this weekend at the Rosebrook Polocrosse fields on Kayuga Road, Muswellbrook.
The club will also run the entertaining Ringer’s Comp again for people who want to try the sport but play against others of a similar skill level.
Come along for a great weekend of horse power-fuelled action.
