With 96 acceptors on a track currently rated a soft 5, the SRC has an exciting program, one that Northam will have five good chances running.
“It’s good to be back at home,” he said.
He has a busy day starting in the very first when Maxima debuts in the $20,000 Horsepower Maiden Plate (900m).
“She trialled well and will run a bit of a race although she has drawn awkward (11),” Northam said.
“She will be doing her best work late.”
The Debater and Love For Willow then run in the second, the Stratum Star @ Widden 3YO Maiden Handicap (1100m).
“They were both disappointing at Gunnedah but drew wide and raced wide on a track with bias,” he said.
“They’ve had a little freshen up this week and will hopefully run good races.”
Northam’s day will be completed in the sixth, the Yarraman Park Class 1 Handicap (1300m), when he has Remittance and Don’t Doubt Her engaged.
“Both went to Coonamble the other day and both were a little disappointing,” he said.
“They usually race very well at Scone though and they will be back on a good track with good barriers.
“I think both are real good each-way chances.”
