Scone RSL Men’s Bowling Club eyes off glory at state pennant play-offs

THE Scone RSL Men’s Bowling Club is gearing up for a big showing at the upcoming NSW play-offs.

The organisation will be represented in grade 5 at Soldiers Point on the weekend of August 4, 5 and 6.

The unfolding of the district and zone pennant flags, as well as the presentation of badges to the competing players, took place last Saturday.

Brian Cone was on hand for the ceremony and wished the team all the best for the upcoming state games.

David Kilroy reminded all the players that the Scone RSL Men’s Bowling Club was equal as a club – there is no grade 5 or grade 6 players, they are one.

A bus has been organised for the Soldiers Point weekend departing from the RSL Cub at 6am on Friday, August 4, please do not arrive late.

Meanwhile, the freshness of the morning may have kept a few away, only six of the regular Wednesday warriors fronting for a game of triples.

The winners were Laurie Kearnes, Geoffrey Sutton and Allan Power,

Sunday morning a game of singles championship was played and won by Joel Wilkinson.

Also a game of fours club championship was played after the presentation with Laurie Kearnes, Geoffrey Sutton, Danny Gallegos and Alan Symington winning a close encounter.
