A strong field turned out in good weather.

On Saturday, August 12, the men played an 18-hole stableford for the Dawson and Dawson Realty Trophy.
On a beautiful day for golf the best score was by Tony O’Neill who had 38 points to be the B grade winner.
Thirty-six points was the score for both the A and C grade winners with Clayton Rogers prevailing on a countback from David Druce and Jeff Harrington, and Tom Thompson also winning on a countback from George Campbell.
Gordon Halliday with 37 points in B grade had to settle for a ball.
Other ball winners were: Scott Reid 35, Geoff Barton 34, John Murray and Mick Alsleben 33 on a countback.
The NTPs were won by Jeff Harrington 0.98 metres and this collected him the jackpot of three balls on the 2nd/11th.
On the 8th/17th Gordon Halliday was the winner at four metres.
On Saturday, August 19, the men will play an 18-hole stableford for Scott Lye and Trevor Wilson’s Trophy while many of the ladies will support Murrurundi Ladies Open Day.
In the final of the Peter and Margaret Marshall match play singles knockout played on August 8, Julie Leckie defeated Annie Woods in a tight encounter.
After establishing an early lead, Leckie had to survive a comeback by Woods, finally winning 3 and 2.
On Thursday, August 10, the ladies played an 18-hole stableford.
The good field started in perfect weather, but golf then became more difficult as windy conditions set in.
The victor was Lyn Banks who had a fantastic round of one over par, which comprised 17 pars and one bogie for a personal best of 74.
This equated to 45 points to be the winner of the Scone Royal Hotel Trophy.
Doon MacCallum with 40 points would have been disappointed to be the runner-up, as she had a score which would normally have been enough to win.
These two players won balls along with Sue Watts 38, Julie Leckie 35, Judy Carmody 34, Annie Woods and Ann Cameron 33 points.
Sue Watts also won the NTP on the 17th.
In the ladies stableford event on Saturday, August 12, Banks continued her good run of form with 42 points to be the clear winner and further reduce her handicap.
Scone players Sally Archibald, Jo Brown, Wendy Clift and Julie Leckie competed in the ladies Holden Scramble at Quirindi on Sunday, August 13.
They had a successful day finishing runners up with 60 nett, a score which was boosted by a hole-in-one by Jo Brown.
Two Scone teams will try their luck in the Muswellbrook event on Wednesday, August 16.
The ladies will also play the seventh Medal round on August 17 for the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy.
