Eight groups fitted out in yellow aprons will walk the streets of Scone approaching local businesses on Friday August 25 in an effort to raise funds.

The ladies will set up stalls outside of Coles and the Reject Shop on Kelly Street selling a range of merchandise from fresh cut flowers, pens and pins to the beloved Cancer Council bears.

Scone Cancer Support Group member Cath Coady helps to organise the event in Scone every year, with last years’ fundraising efforts exceeding $8000.

“We are hoping to raise that much again this year so I encourage everyone to get down and support the cause even if it’s just $2, it all adds up and is greatly appreciated,” she said.

“We had all our merchandise come in yesterday including the new Cancer Council bears which have a different theme each year –  this year they are Fireman Dougal,” she said.

As one of Australia’s best known and most popular fundraising events, all funds raised on Daffodil Day go towards vital cancer research, prevention, information and support services.
