And, this week was no exception with a group of men travelling to Newcastle to celebrate the great Slim Dusty.
“A full bus embarked on a tour to Buttai Barn this week and from all reports enjoyed every moment of it,” SNRC Project Officer Belinda McKenzie said.
“The group had a fantastic day out that began with morning tea followed by a hearty home-baked carvery lunch and dessert and two hours of live entertainment to celebrate Slim Dusty,” she said
Men from the Upper Hunter Shire and Muswellbrook have enjoyed a range of health and social activities including informative talks, resources and tours.
According to SNRC manager Lee Watts, the centre will continue to grant opportunities despite their Virtual Shed program coming to an end.
“It is a shame that a program such as the Virtual Shed that supports rural men will finish in December after eight very successful years,” she said.
“We will continue to support rural men in the Upper Hunter and provide them with resources and information to support their physical health, mental health, relationships and financial health.”
