Local lad Emlyn Elliott wanted to raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, so he decided to oversee a plant stall at the Bloom Markets at Scone Public School.
His friend Brock Curry helped him and they potted up plants and raised $140.60, which was a wonderful effort.
The boys recently presented the money to the chairperson of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Scone Support Group, Errol Bates.
“At an early age, these boys are showing they are community-minded and are willing to put themselves out to help others,” assistant secretary and publicity officer Beryl Bates said.
“This again emphasises how important this service is to our region when young people are eager to give up their time to raise money.
“It was a terrific gesture by Emlyn and Brock.”
