A MAN has been injured in what is believed to be an accidental shooting in remote bushland off Black Stump Way at Coolah.

Police were told that a group of six friends were pig hunting when a 24-year-old man was accidentally shot in the buttock at around 8am Sunday morning.
Tamworth Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to a property 20km South West of Coolah and the injured man was flown to John Hunter Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
The patient is reported to be in a stable condition.
Officers from Mudgee Local Area Command are investigating the incident and have interviewed a 44-year-old man, who has since been released.
Police have also seized the man’s Firearms Licence and firearms as their investigations continue.
