On Wednesday night the organisations met in Scone for the Regional Australia Bank’s Community Partnership Program presentation evening.
Now in its ninth year, the program allows new banking customers to select a local not-for-profit group they would like to support when opening a new account.
The bank then calculates the average annual balance of all supporters’ accounts and donates 1 per cent back to the groups.
In Scone, $32,332 was handed over to the local community with and Scone & District Cancer Support receiving close to $9,500 alone.
Other organisations that received a boost were Transcare, Blandford Public School P & C Association Inc, Murrurundi Community Mens Shed, Upper Hunter Where There’s a Will and The King of The Ranges Stockman’s Challenge.
Regional Australia Bank Regional Manager Ben Luck said it was all part of delivering a return to the regional community.
“We are hoping to reach the $1 million mark in donations to local communities in 2018,” he said.
