Local businessman Ian Campbell from the Royal Hotel in Scone donated a cheque for $2090 from a recent event held at the hotel.
Mr Campbell, who is also the club’s sponsor for the Under 16's, organised for Rugby League icon Tommy Raudonikis to attend for the day as part of a charity event.
Tommy Raudonikis passed on his rugby league knowledge and wisdom to the juniors, Scone Old Boys and the guests attending.
The day kicked off in the beer garden with a free barbecue cooked by the Scone Old Boys.
There was also a pass the ball competition, and a chance for guests to grab Tommy’s autograph.
Tommy spent time with the children and entertained a small and enthusiastic crowd with some tales of his illustrious career with the night culminating in a charity auction.
All money raised from the event was kindly donated back to the club by Ian Campbell.
Scone Junior Rugby League committee member Jamie Munn thanked the local business man for his support on the night.
“These funds will be put back into much needed playing equipment for the club,” Mr Munn said.
“We cannot thank Ian enough, he approached the club and asked if we wanted to be involved, with any profits from the evening returning to the club.
“It just shows the great community spirit we have in our town.”
