Greens were full for the event with 112 bowlers and their supporters geared up to play.

Held annually, the night raises funds for the TransClub social group program. 

TransCare CEO Alan Gordon said the event is always well supported by the community and this year was no different.

“In addition to the teams playing on the night, it is very pleasing to see the backing and support from the local businesses in Scone, Aberdeen, Muswellbrook and surrounds,” he said.

“They provide goods and services to be raffled and auctioned on the night.

“Every little bit adds up – and we are pleased to have raised over $7,500 with the event.”

The money is put back into the community through activities run by the TransClub social group such as first aid, dancing, recipe exchanges and outings in the local area.

The aged care activities program allows participants to access regular entertainment and social interactions within the Upper Hunter.

“We provide morning tea and a light lunch as part of TransClub activities,” Mr Gordon said.

“Thanks to the funds raised at the Annual Barefoot Bowls Night we will be able to further subsidise the cost to our clients for this service.

“TransClub is a very important program as it encourages our clients to stay socially active in the community, so we are glad to be able to give it a boost.”
