Over 600 horses and their riders united in Tamworth from October 13 to 16 at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre.
The event saw competitors face off in a range of disciplines including working horse challenges, horse sporting events, hack and led classes, campdrafts, ODE, show jumping and dressage events.
Among the horse enthusiasts was a small, but talented contingent of Scone High School Equestrian riders.
Scone High School’s Jo Cutler said the team had a great time in Tamworth at the four-day event.
“Each student and their trusty stead represented Scone High to the best of their ability and had a blast in the process,” she said.
Among the team there were a few stand out results.
“Most notably Claudia and Chloe Atfield placed in the team Campdrafting event and Claudia placed 1st and 2nd on her two horses for her age group,” Jo Cutler said.
“There was over 100 riders in that event so it is a great achievement,” she said.
“We also had Emily Walklate competing and placing in the Gymkhana ring events,” Jo Cutlers said.
Among the other Scone High competitors was Darcy Pittman, who placed in the sporting competitions, Jess Martin, placing in sporting and show riding and Matilda Jones who also placed in show riding.
“Well done to all the girls, we are very proud to have you out representing our school,” Jo Cutler said.
The equestrian event is held annually in Tamworth and is a great opportunity for young riders to enter in competition in all the equestrian disciplines during the four days.
