New South Wales’ Bike Week ran from September 16 to 24 and included a number of cycling activities across the Upper Hunter.
In Scone, participatants rode from the Bill Rose Sports Complex to Scone TAFE using the town’s new cyclepath which was opened in May during Horse Week.
There was also a slightly longer and more scenic 50 kilometre return bike ride from the Bill Rose Sports Complex to Cressfield Stud.
Upper Hunter Shire Council’s Sports Participation Officer Nicky Western said the event encouraged people of all ages and abilities to get out and participate.
“Lachlan attended the ‘come and try track cycling’ event in Muswellbrook which was of the many activities held across the region," she said.
“A big thanks to Scone Sports Store for coming on board as the sponsor of the event.”
