Around 170 people enjoyed a night of magic, gypsies and sideshow alley at Gundy’s Grand Carnivale themed ball on Saturday night.
The annual spring ball raises money for upgrades and maintenance of the Gundy Soldiers Memorial Hall and is well supported by the community each year.
Committee member Iain Hayes said it was a fantastic night and guests went to a huge effort with their costumes.
“It’s strictly black tie themed for everyone who doesn’t dress up, but those who do go all out with their outfits,” he said.
The ball has been running in Gundy for 20 years and this year the money will go towards the $35,000 the committee has already spent renovating the toilet block in the hall.
“The hall is well used throughout the year, with around 300 people attending our annual Anzac Day service and for weddings, birthday parties, polling days, TAFE and Local Land Services events,” Mr Hayes said.
“The ladies on the committee, Kylie Vella, Louise Moir and Tracy van Balen, have been really resourceful and gone out of their way to decorate the hall, which looked amazing.
“It was a great night and a special thanks goes to the Linga Longa Hotel and Gundy General store for their ongoing support.”
