Upper Hunter Shire Council is installing a side-track through Rouchel Brook, which will be accessible for vehicles heavier than 12 tonnes, except during high water flow.
Both Cameron and Junction bridges were built in 1930 out of timber – and require ongoing inspection and maintenance work.
Expert contractors Bridge Check Australia’s most recent level 3 inspection, including bore hole testing, indicated the need for the load limit.
Council apologises for any inconvenience.
If residents wish to receive email updates on progress on the bridges, email council@upperhunter.nsw.gov.au with “Cameron Bridge’ in the subject line.
