The event was held at the Rosedale Complex on December 10 and kicked off with a festive dress-up competition.
A range of different characters were in attendance from Santa Claus and his reindeer to an assassin and his noble steed.
The best dressed award went to Grace Stenhouse and Allison Irwin who came with their ponies Tex and Holly dressed as Santa’s little helpers.
Murrurundi Pony Club secretary Lissa Baxter said 2017 has been a huge year for the club with the kids competing in a range of equine events.
“We have had members competing in Show Jumping, Eventing, Dressage, Camp drafting, Presidents Cups and Interschool’s,” Ms Baxter said.
“Following the dress-ups on Sunday we played some fun games that combined real horse and hobby horse activities.
“Plenty of heads got wet with the apple bob race and there were some tired legs after the hobby horse race.”
With team names such as 'Rusted Spurs' and 'Village Idiots', the kids raced against the clock, however the 'Murrurundi All Stars' which included Annie Irwin, Issy Burke and Eloise Blaydon took out the win.
At the finale of the fun and games, the group winded down before their annual awards presentation.
“We finished with some wonderful food that everyone brought along to share,” Ms Baxter said.
The 2017 winners are as follows:
· The Stan Watson Sportsmanship Award went to Jarna White
