At about 10pm on Monday, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to a property at Glenbawn to transport a 62-year-old man with foot and other injuries.
He had become stuck after his tractor rolled, pinning him to the ground about 9am earlier that day.
The man was trapped and his calls for help were not heard until late into the night.
After spending hours stuck beneath the heavy farm equipment, the tractor was moved and the man was treated at the scene by medical crews.
He was transported by helicopter to the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital and was reportedly in a stable condition.
