A GIANT teddy bear is currently the talk of social media in the Upper Hunter.
Staff at local business Allday Concrete spent hours creating the bear, along with a ‘Merry Xmas” sign, just outside Aberdeen.
One of the workers, Peter Day, appeared pleasantly surprised by its popularity with Facebook users.
“We just made some bales [of hay] of various sizes to suit and then did a bit of painting on it,” he said.
“I think someone did a similar thing several years ago, so we kind of used that a bit and then Googled pictures of bears to help us.
“In the end, it took us about five or six hours to do the entire thing.
“The beginning of it was when [Muswellbrook business] Darryl’s Bobcat decided they’d put a cut out on the fence, so it became a bit of a challenge.
“But, really, we’re just joining the festive spirit – hopefully it’s something that the kids can enjoy.”
