This is my first Shire Notes since the election and I would like to thank you for your overwhelming support and faith in having me as a member on your Council once again until 2020.
Planning for the Future
Members of the community like to see their elected Councillors and be able to talk with them and receive follow up on requests as needed.
This is your chance to meet and chat at organised pop up sessions across the Shire over the next six months where Council will be asking residents about their vision for the Shire’s future.
The first ‘pop up’ consultation will be at Touch Football in Murrurundi tonight, November 24, from 5pm to 8pm. This is followed by Scone Touch Football next week at Bill Rose Sports Complex from 4.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday, December 1.
Australia Day Nominations
The closing date for Australia Day nominations has been extended to November 25.
Australia Day is a day where we all get to celebrate all that is great about our beautiful country. It is also an opportunity to nominate someone that has achieved something extraordinary or goes above and beyond in their community.
Don’t miss your opportunity to identify an outstanding person. Entry forms can be found at Council offices and libraries and online.
Improvements to White Park
White Park is in need of upgrades to accommodate the many events held on the grounds.
There is now an opportunity to make it great again. With equine disciplines working together discussions and investigations are underway. The Indoor Arena Project which is stage 1 has funding approved for $1.469 million and with Council’s contribution of $500,000 the committee want to ensure they get it right and are working together to ensure that each discipline is heard and their requirements become a part of the plan.
