While Winx was busy scoring her 20th consecutive win in the George Main Stakes at Royal Randwick last Saturday, her dam, Vegas Showgirl, was busy giving birth to her filly which was born just hours later.
The filly, born at the Segenhoe Stud just outside of Scone, is by the champion sire Exceed And Excel, making her the half sister to Winx.
Breeder of Winx and owner of Vegas Showgirl John Camilleri said he was delighted to have another half sister to Winx.
"We knew she was getting close but like last year when the foal came on the day of Winx's Warwick Stakes, she waited until after another win, this time a group 1," Camilleri said.
"It is a million-to-one chance that would happen.
“It was great to get another filly because I want to keep the family, so I will be keeping this one,” he said.
Camilleri and his breeding adviser Peter O'Brien will sit down in the coming weeks to decide the next mating for Vegas Showgirl.
