What are your main priorities for the Upper Hunter?
Better funding for the education of Upper Hunter and rural children. The issue of having unethical and industry driven government decision makers allowing the current destruction of our lands, water (including ground water) and all animal species which are being sold out to corporate greed. New Englanders, like all Australians, are demanding a real change in how our politicians do business.
What is your stance on the Scone bypass / railway overpass?
It has been very frustrating for the community to have this issue dragged out by government officials. It would seem that the push for the bypass completely overlooks the very community that will be most affected. The issues of safety along with overlooking how this will impact on local business and jobs has a real impact on peoples lives and economy. I would be supporting what the local community and people want and be lobbying for the overpass.
What is your stance on renewable energy and the balance between mining and agriculture in the region?
I stand for people who want a sustainable future for Australian generations to come. AJP has clear Key Objectives surrounding renewable energy including rapid transform to a carbon free energy infrastructure, prohibiting any fossil fuel expansion, and a carbon tax on both the coal and animal agriculture industries to pay for clean energy solutions, sustainable plant-based food agriculture systems, education, and the protection of existing forests and marine habitats.
What are the top three areas of concern to you in this electorate?
Secure needs based funding for education of children and youth.
Sustainable business and industry that offer secure job security and satisfaction.
Unethical and industry driven government decision makers, and the current destruction of our lands, water (including ground water) and all animal species which are being sold out to corporate greed.
Why should the Upper Hunter vote for you?
I hope Upper Hunter people consider a vote for me and the AJP as each vote for AJP counts in showing the Government and the other parties that animals, the environment and the community do matter! Without having a political voice the Government will continue to send animals to live export, increase factory farming, drive our native animals into further extinction and continue to rapidly destroy our environment.
