Upper Hunter Shire Council has built a six metre high community Christmas tree for the forecourt of the Scone Administration Centre.
After a request from Councillor Lee Watts last year to investigate the viability of purchasing a Christmas tree for the festive season council agreed to allocate the funds in the 2017/18 budget.
Cr Lee Watts said she is very excited to be able to get into the Christmas spirit with everyone in the community.
“Christmas is all about giving and sharing, and we are hoping this tree will bring joy to everyone in the shire this festive season,” Cr Watts said.
This is the first of four Christmas trees that will be erected in the shire with Aberdeen, Merriwa, and Murrurundi to recieve trees in the coming years.
