A total of 82 competitors came from near and far to compete in the event, which took place at Camp Kurra-Keith within the Lake Glenbawn recreation area on the weekend of April 7 and 8.
The weather was extremely kind with both days sunny and mild.
The small but hard-working LGFA committee had once again prepared five high-class ranges that tested the stamina and mental toughness of the participants.
The steep and hilly terrain provided a wide range of challenging shots, which resulted in only three archers – Isaac Scarr, Jamie Bradshaw and Alex Elvin – scoring a perfect 100 round throughout the weekend.
This prompted range-master Garry Dawson to announce that the winner of the weekend was undeniably the ranges.
LGFA boasted some great results with the following members placing:
Maree Scott - 1st FBR
Tom Hancock - 2nd SMC
Garry Dawson - 3rd SMC
Kelly O’Meara - 3rd FHC
Tyron Hartfield - 1st YMR15-17
Bridget Ryan - 3rd YF
Jack Pinkerton - 2nd CubA
A huge thanks also goes to the 2nd Muswellbrook Scout Group for its wonderful catering services during the weekend.
LGFA hosts indoor shoots every second Saturday at the Scone Basketball Stadium, plus one outdoor shoot per month at Camp Kurra-Keith, Lake Glenbawn.
New members are always welcome.
