THE Merriwa Magpies reinvigorated their Hunter Valley Group 21 reserve grade campaign with an impressive 38-12 triumph at the expense of the Denman Devils on Sunday.

The outfit now sits one point outside the top four.
Merriwa held a narrow 12-6 advantage at the break, but powered home in the second stanza on the back of a strong Seth Morgan performance.
The blockbusting fullback had a hand in most of the side’s attacking forays, while Denman’s Tyson Bruns stood tall in a losing team.
In other fixtures, the Muswellbrook Rams crushed the Greta Branxton Colts 68-0, the Aberdeen Tigers trounced the Murrurundi Mavericks 36-12 and the Singleton Greyhounds outlasted the Scone Thoroughbreds 22-20.
The undefeated Tigers sit atop of the ladder with 12 points, with the Rams close behind on 10.
The Thoroughbreds and Mavericks share third spot with five, one ahead of the Magpies and Greyhounds.
In first grade, Muswellbrook easily accounted for Greta Branxton 38-4, Scone locked out Singleton 46-0 and Aberdeen put Denman to the sword 48-14.
The Thoroughbreds’ under-18s suffered a shock 20-6 loss to the Greyhounds, the Colts upset the Rams 30-12 and the Devils knocked over the Tigers 24-10.
In league tag, Muswellbrook defeated Greta Branxton 14-10, the Mavettes proved too good for Aberdeen 36-12, the Magpies prevailed 34-4 over Denman and Scone maintained its winning momentum, thanks to a 24-4 win against Singleton.
The Group 21 competition heads into round seven this weekend.
Singleton hosts Denman in four grades at home on Saturday, while Merriwa and Murrurundi lock horns in reserves and league tag.
On Sunday, Greta Branxton faces Scone and Aberdeen tackles Muswellbrook in a replay of the 2017 grand final.
