The Youth Council is now planning a range of school-based projects to raise money, encourage donations and increase awareness of homelessness.
All funds raised, and goods donated, will be given to the Upper Hunter Homeless Support Service who looks after people-in-need on a local basis.
The organisation provides support to those residents experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, including short and medium term housing; assistance to find long-term housing; advocacy to maintain current tenancy; education and information; referrals and personal/living skills; household management; and much more.
