STEPHEN Jones landed his third winner from his past five starters when Bon Allen, ridden by Courtney Van Der Werf, led all the way against a hot field of up and coming sprinters to claim the Horsepower Class One (1000m) at Muswellbrook on Monday.

And, he did it with top weight of 59kg.
The Scone-based Jones, who had a winner on the second day of the Scone Cup Carnival then another at Quirindi six days later, rates Bon Allen as a horse with a future.
“We might give him one more run in the country then go to Sydney for another TAB Highway,” he said.
At his previous start the horse ran seventh in an 1100m at the Hawkesbury metropolitan meeting when ridden by Blake McDougall.
“That’s Courtney’s second winner for me and both have been on this horse,” Jones said.
“She won his maiden on him at Mudgee and again here and on both occasions, it was after he had recovered from a couple of little issues.
“I liked the way he was challenged near the line then fought back to take the lead again with that weight.
“When we went through the field there were about six hot young sprinters, but this race was the one we had planned for, so we decided to stick to our plan.”
Bon Allen fought back to win by three quarters of a length from the talented Happy Mo with Titus another three quarters of a length away third.
The favourite Fame And Fortune finished fifth.
