- Dr Seuss.
Young or old, we all have fond memories of Dr Seuss with many of the books centring on important messages such as ‘togetherness’ and ‘everyone matters’.
A Scone Grammar School production, Seussical Jr. is taking over town over the next two weeks and many of these massages will be brought to life on stage.
Close to 90 students are involved in the production through the band, cast and crew showcasing the amazing theatrical talent of our local youth.
Seussical Jr. director Mrs Tori Saunders says it’s very exciting to see it all come together after months of hard work.
“There are five performances, it’s an hour and a half show of music and fun and has quite an excellent story line and catch phrase - ‘A person’s a person no matter how small’,” she said.
“We have Cat in the Hat who narrates the story and tells us the story as its happening.
“We also have characters such as The Whos, Jojo and Horton the Elephant”.
Orchestrated by Scone Grammar School Music teacher Jason Buckley, and with sound and lighting hired from Newcastle, it’s set to be a fantastic night of family fun.
“We have a wonderful cast who range in various ages and have worked really hard,” Mrs Saunders added.
There are four performances left on June 21, June 22, June 28 and June 29 at 6.00pm at St Luke’s Hall in Scone.
Tickets are priced at $25 for adults $20 for students and senior citizens and can be booked online at www.trybooking.com/384397.
Tickets are free for children under 5.
Tickets are selling fast, with Friday June 29 a sell-out.
