Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service conveys 59-year-old to John Hunter Hospital

A WOMAN has been flown to John Hunter Hospital after falling from a horse at Blandford on Wednesday afternoon.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS) was tasked to the area but diverted to Murrurundi to meet NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated the patient.

The WRHS’s clinical team then offered further assistance, before conveying the 59-year-old to Newcastle.

It is believed the woman suffered the head injuries after being trodden on by the horse.

The patient is in a stable condition.
