It’s an annual tradition for the club - a way of saying thank you to all of the patrons who buy a raffle ticket, make member contributions or simply come in for a beverage throughout the year.
Five local schools received a boost, including Scone Grammar School, Scone Public School, Scone High School, St Mary’s Primary School and Scone and District Preschool.
The funds will enable them to purchase new equipment and resources for local children.
Scott Memorial Hospital also benefited with a donation to their vital service.
Mr Wilson added he was very pleased to be able to support a large number of local sporting clubs this year with Scone Football Club, Scone Junior Rugby Union Club, Scone Junior Rugby League Club, Scone Swimming Club, Scone Touch Football, Scone Junior Cricket and Scone Athletics all receiving funds.
“We rely on the community so we try to give back where we can and like to see the community benefit,” Mr Wilson said.
Mr Wilson said the club will give back almost $50,000 in donations this year – a figure that is down on previous years due to an accidental fire which forced the temporary closure of Scone Sporties Club in January.
“If everything goes to plan we are looking at having a revamped Scone Sporties reopened in October,” he said.
The opening will coincide with the completion of the multi-million redevelopment of the Scone Golf Course, on track for around September.
