After recently gaining a spot as halfback for the NSW Combined Independent School (CIS) Primary Rugby Union team, the Scone Grammar School student will now represent at a national level.
The Scone Junior Rugby Union player and teammates competed at the NSWPSSA Rugby Championships at the Coffs Harbour International Stadium last week.
The CIS team finished the tournament undefeated, beating Sydney North 20-0 in the grand final and winning the overall championships.
In five games of rugby, the CIS team scored 221 points and only had 12 points scored against them.
On top of this, Max was chosen in the NSWPSSA 1st XV team to compete at the National Championship held over three days at Concord Oval, Sydney in October.
Aside from being chosen to represent Scone in Central North Rugby Union for the past two years, Max described his selection as his biggest achievement to date.
As the only country boy on the team, Max joins players coming from elite Sydney schools and has three warm up games with the NSW side scheduled against The Kings school under-13a, Parramatta under-13s and The Scots School 13a.
The achievement tops off recent success for Scone Grammar School, being the third year in a row the school has had primary students make the CIS team and also be chosen in the NSWPSSA team.
