The Upper Hunter Motoring Association had eight of their best vintage classics looking spick and span to take the oldies for a spin out to Gundy.
Along with a healthy dose of spring air, more than 20 residents and clients of HammondCare enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Linga Longa Inn before being transported back in the car of their choice.
Upper Hunter Motoring Association secretary Wayne Murphy said the oldest car was a 1934 green Old Rover.
Among the other old classics was a Morris Minor from the 1950s and a 1937 Chev.
“We did a similar thing with the Scone Ladies Probus earlier in the year,” Mr Murphy said.
Strathearn Villas Manager Caitlyn Easey said the idea originally came from one of the residents.
“We offered it to our residents and clients and had a huge response” she said.
“We do a bus trip every month to different locations, last month we went out to Werris Creek to visit the Rail Museum.
“We’re always open to other ideas of places to go but it’s a great way to get out together.”
The residents were overjoyed and not able to wipe the smiles off their faces.
Organisers of the event Caitlyn Easey, Strathearn Villas Manager and Nicole Ziebell, HammondCare At Home Care Manager would like to thank the Upper Hunter Motoring Association and the Linga Longa Inn for their time and contribution on the day. Everyone had a fantastic time.
