The event, on Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23, is showcasing a fantastic selection of world-class Australian offerings, according to Catherine Boulton.
“Once again it's all Aussie at the film festival,” she said.
“In previous years, good crowds have gathered to enjoy the experience and appreciate the program of national short films.
“The audience met guests that included writer/producer/director John Winter, actor Roy Billing, producer Drew Bailey, director Mark Shields and producer Sam Wark.
“This year’s program includes a wide selection of short films including music video, comedy, animation and drama, with something for all age groups.
“As always, the strong program features many award-winning offerings that have screened around the world.”
Tara Morice, who was BAFTA and AFI nominated for her role in Strictly Ballroom, also starred in Dance Academy and Oranges and Sunshine.
She has worked extensively on stage in Australia – and appeared in a wide-range of television programs.
Morice appears at the festival in the short film, Let’s See How Fast This Baby Can Go.
Based on a true story, it also stars Liv Hewson, who has appeared in Top of the Lake and Dramaworld.
She’s currently seen as Abby Hammond in the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet.
Another drama stars highly-acclaimed author and performer Boori Monty Prior.
He is an indigenous Australian writer, best known as a storyteller and as the inaugural Australian Children's Laureate.
Boori has worked in numerous industries including education, film, television, sport and music.
He stars in Brown Paper Bag at the festival alongside Gold Logie Award winning actor John Wood, who is known for his roles in Rafferty's Rules and the long-running police drama Blue Heelers.
Dan Wyllie appears in Passengers, too.
He’s a prolific stage, television and film actor, whose work includes Muriel’s Wedding, Romper Stomper, Offspring and Jasper Jones.
“The evening has all the essential elements - great films, festival buzz, terrific film guests and an enthusiastic audience,” Ms Boulton said.
“I’d say that our audience ranges from 9 to 90.
“And, all are really engaged and applauding after every film.”
Come on Saturday evening for the red carpet event with film guests, drinks, supper, dessert and tea/coffee.
Entry for this highly-enjoyable and social evening is $30.
A delicious supper will be served before the films, and coffee and dessert afterwards.
Guests will also be available to chat to about their films.
Online booking is available at www.sconefilms.org.au
Alternatively, tickets may be purchased directly from Hunt a Book, Scone.
“Last year there were a lot of disappointed would-be festival-goers,” Ms Boulton said.
“So, be sure of a seat, get your tickets in advance.
“Once again, a casual encore screening of the film program, with entry $15, will be at 11am on Sunday.
“Morning tea is available to purchase beforehand. “
Scone FilmFest 2018 will be at Scone Films’ pop-up cinema, at the Senior Citizen's Centre, Oxford Road, Scone.
