Perhaps an investor who wants to work with local food entrepreneurs, or maybe just someone interested in supporting local farming and food production?
Then the Upper Hunter Food Futures Workshop might just be for you.
Guest speaker Jason Chesworth will share the lessons he and his family have learned on the way to making Hunter Belle Dairy a household name.
From finding capital to negotiating with national supermarkets - Jason will give a candid account of the do’s, don’ts and things he wishes he’d learned sooner.
He’ll also share why he believes small, locally owned food businesses are the key to a sustainable future for farmers.
The workshop is an opportunity to meet like-minded locals, sample some yummy local produce and if you have an idea for your own food venture, Upper Huner Shire Council staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about planning applications and food safety.
The workshop is free and will be held at the Upper Hunter Shire Council Administration Centre, 135 Liverpool Street, Scone, on Thursday September 27 from 6pm to 8pm.
