Four divisions will see their best two teams go head to head, as underdogs look to knock off favourites, and youth looks to upstage their experienced rivals.
President of the Scone and District Netball Association (SDNA), Natalie Smith, said she was excited for the weekend and gave a rundown of the match-ups.
“The 9 to 11 age group will be between the Dragons and Knights, the Dragons got the easy way to the grand final with a win in the major semi,” she said.
“But the Knights lost the major semi and had to come from behind to beat Panthers in the semi-final to advance to big one.”
A similar tale will play out in the 12 to 13 year old grade, with the minor premiers Roxy looking to fight off a challenge from Mambo, who have scrapped their way into the grand final from the minor semi.
Those matches will begin at 10 am, and will be immediately followed by the junior presentation at 11:15 am where all the clubs will be acknowledged for their efforts this year.
Ms Smith said the seniors will make for a gripping contest, with both games featuring the young brigade taking on a much more seasoned opponent.
“At 12.30 pm is the B grade grand final between 13 years rep (representative) team and Define Style,” she said.
“The 13 years reps have had a lot of court time this year and have trained hard but Define Style has experience and calm heads so this will be a very closely fought battle.”
The main event will be held at 1:45 pm, and decide who will be crowned the queens of the court for the 2018 season.
“The A grade final is between RSL and the 14 years reps, this is not only a contest between two very strong opponents who have both played excellent netball this year, but it is also a battle between mothers and daughters so we’ll see if experience triumphs over youth,” said Ms Smith.
As with the juniors, the senior presentation will follow the match and award the best of the best with their much deserved prizes.
The SDNA is thrilled with how the season has progressed, and is already looking forward to it all kicking off again next year.
“The committee would like to thank everyone who has participated, volunteered and supported Scone and District Netball in 2018 and can't wait for the 2019 season,” she said.
“Our annual general meeting will be held on Monday, November 12th at 6 pm at Scone RSL club, we would love to see everyone there so we can ensure that the 2019 season is our best ever.”
