He’s one of thousands of riders taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge across Australia this October.
The challenge started only five years ago and has already raised $12 million for the ground-breaking research into childhood cancer that is being done at Children’s Medical Research Institute.
Fletcher, who set himself a humble fundraising goal of $1500, has more than doubled that already raising more than $4300.
As of Friday, he was in the top 30 fundraisers in the country out of 13,000 riders – he’s currently ranked 33rd in Australia and 16th in New South Wales.
And, at just over two weeks in the Scone Grammar School student says he’s hoping to hit the $4500 mark.
“I thought it was a really worthy cause so I decided to give it a go,’’ Fletcher said.
“People that my parents are close to have had cancer.
“I’ve had great support from my family, the community and Scone Grammar School.

“My sport is rugby league, I used to play for Scone now I’m doing refereeing so I’ve had great support from the league community also.”
Fletcher has already ridden more than 120 kilometres and says his goal is to hit 200.
