WTAW chairman Jane Callinan says all items up for auction on the night – on Saturday, November 17 – will reinforce the charity’s mission to improve mental health and wellbeing across the Upper Hunter.
“Good wellbeing requires taking deliberate action, so we’ve deliberately sourced auction items that will give people a boost and make them feel good,” she said.
“Things like connecting with others, engaging in things we are passionate about, doing things that have meaning and creating a sense of achievement all help contribute to enhanced wellbeing and will be a big focus at the ball.
“The list of items really is remarkable –we’ve got everything from Grange, a horse photography package from renowned photographer Georgie Mitchell right through to two strapping young men from St Albert’s college at University of New England who have offered their labour for the day.
“I think the most sentimental item on the auction list will be the winning artwork from the WTAW School Art Prize, we’ve had some terrific entries and we can’t wait to reveal the winner.
“The generosity from all those who have donated is a great reminder that we belong to an exceptional community.”
Dancing is also a well-known contributor to wellbeing and with one of Australia’s hottest DJs in charge of the dance floor, Ms Callinan is expecting Pay’s Hangar will be buzzing.
“DJ Brett Martin has played at the biggest parties around the country – Hamilton Island Race Week, Australian Fashion Week – and he’s ready to bring his magic at our Inaugural Rainbow Ball,” she explained.
“The foundations are all in place for a seriously great night out and to raise funds to support the important work of Where there’s a Will in the Upper Hunter.”
