Come and meet the dogs from the Scone Animal Shelter, as they go for a walk at the Bill Rose Sports Complex from 5pm to 6pm, Tuesday December 18.
No appointments needed, just drop by.
Mayor Wayne Bedggood who adopted his staffy Whiskey from the shelter said there was some misconceptions about animals from the shelter.
“There’s a lot of reasons, good animals end up in our care. They can be great pets for the right owners,” he said.
“Some people might avoid the shelter, thinking it may be ‘sad’ so Council staff have volunteered to bring the dogs out for a walk in the park.
“You could find a dog that you will walk in this park for years to come.”
There will also be cats and kittens to view (but a bit further away from the dogs).
Can’t make Tuesday? Make an appointment with the Council Ranger for a ‘meet and greet’ at Scone Animal Shelter, by calling 6540 1100 during office hours.
