Team members will travel down to the 2019 Equestrian NSW Awards For Excellence at Warwick Farm’s William Inglis Hotel on February 27 after being nominated for Volunteer of the Year, Owner of the Year, Groom of the Year and Horse of the Year categories.
SEVT coach Melinda Osborn will vie for the Volunteer of the Year award, acknowledging the many hours she has puts into volunteering and her dedication to the sport.
“Her girls joined us three of four years ago, we had a ‘Come and Try’ day and she came along and the girls started vaulting,” SEVT coach Robyn Boyle said.
“Since then she’s become an accredited coach and she’s also been the treasurer of the club for the last three years, so she looks after all our financials and does a great job there.”
Hunterview Sinatra (Frank) is up for Horse of the Year for the fourth year in a row while club member Tiannah Witney is nominated for Groom of the Year.
“The Groom of the Year award is for taking care of the horses, looking after the horses at competitions and packing the truck – all those things that you do for the horses,” Boyle explained.
Boyle herself is up for Owner of the Year, an award that has been introduced for the first time in 2019.
“It’s great for the club because we are voluntary and we just run off the fees that we get and fundraising,” she said.
“We’ve recently sent out feelers for fundraising for the Scone competition that’s happening on the 4th and 5th of May during the Scone Horse Festival.”
The Equestrian NSW Awards For Excellence are held annually recognising outstanding performance across all equestrian disciplines.
