The Academy Award-nominated movie, starring Olivia Coleman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Nicholas Hoult, will screen at the pop-up cinema at the corner of Oxford Road and Cooper Street from 7.30pm on Friday, February 22.
In the early 18th century, England is at war with the French.
Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving.
A frail Queen Anne (Coleman) occupies the throne, and her close friend, Lady Sarah (Weisz), governs the country in her stead, while tending to Anne’s ill health and mercurial temper.
When a new servant, Abigail (Stone), arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah.
Sarah takes Abigail under her wing, and Abigail sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots.
Entry is $12 from the website, www.sconefilms.org.au, Hunt a Book Scone, or at the door.
