Country Labor candidate Melanie Dagg conceded defeat to sitting member The Nationals' Michael Johnsen in the seat of Upper Hunter on Sunday.

This time around it took a few more hours to finalise the result with Mr Johnsen having to wait until lunchtime in the 2015 election before his then opponent Muswellbrook Shire mayor Martin Rush conceded.
"I have called Michael Johnsen this evening to congratulate him on his winning the seat of Upper Hunter, " Mrs Dagg said in a release this afternoon.
"Country Labor is proud of the fact that we ran a positive campaign focused on improving our hospitals, schools and infrastructure, protecting our water, and standing up for the pay and working conditions of our mining workers.
"Our commitment to deliver for the people of the Upper Hunter continues, and I will be working hard every day to hold this government to account."
Mr Johnsen congratulated Melanie on her efforts and wished her and her family well for the future.
"I am extreme;y humbled to represent the wonderful people of our Upper Hunter communities in the NSW Parliament," he said.
"Thank you to all those who have expressed support, especially my supporters, friends and family that worked for days on end to ensure victory."
According to the ABC's analysis of the seat with 80 per cent of the vote counted the two-party preferred vote is Mr Johnsen at 52.1 and Melanie Dagg 47.9, which amounts to a 0.1 per cent swing against Mr Johnsen.
