The project, completed by Melbourne based artist David Lee Pereira, pays homage to the town's beloved annual Festival of the Fleeces.
The festival generates much needed funds for the local Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Merriwa and District Volunteer Rescue Squads.
The mural has been two years in the making, after artist agents Authority Creative sat down with council representatives community members, as well as local school children to talk about art and what meant the most to the region.
The artist used 280 litres of paint and 160 litres of primer to complete the project which has generated much interest online in the weeks leading up to its completion.
