Usually done every second year, they have decided to undergo the journey in 2019 to honour one of their founding members, Brian Morgan, who passed away due to brain cancer at just 48 last year.

The six day journey will see them start in Dungog, before heading through Gloucester, Barrington Tops, Moonan Flat, Gundy, Aberdeen, Singleton and Gresford before returning to their start off point.

They take off on Sunday, April 28 and will return on May 3, and Brian's brother Paul Morgan is urging people to help with donations.

"They're going to have a bucket and people can donate to it at any time along their journey, and if they want to go to the auction on Friday night at Dungog that would be great," he said.

The 600 kilometre journey will not be quick or quiet in the vintage farm vehicles, but club secretary Ben Morgan said it's more than worth it.

"We figured we'd dedicate this run to him and also use it as a fundraiser for the Mark Hughes Foundation which supported their family through the tough battle they had," he said.

"When big Brian passed away it was a unanimous decision on the spot to do this because he was one of our founding members.

"And his family has been a great support for our club and basically we're just one big family so we're supporting another family member when it comes down to it."

They are hoping to raise at least $3000, and are imploring people to donate at their stopping points or to MHF directly.
