AS temperatures dropped to the lowest they had all year, a group of Scone Grammar School Year 12 students were given the chance to think about those less fortunate.

Sleeping out in frosty school grounds for the fourth year in a row last Friday night, the students raised $925 along with four tea chest boxes full of warm clothing donations to benefit local homeless through Upper Hunter Homeless Support.
An 'out of uniform day' was also run last Friday through the school's Student Representative Council (SRC) where all students could give a gold coin donation and/or bring in warm items of clothing.
The students focus on the homeless as part of their Community and Family studies and wanted to support the less fortunate and sleep out overnight to experience what these people are dealing with on a regular basis.
Each student participating in the sleepout was charged $15 which included a meal from the 'Soup Kitchen' with funds going directly to Upper Hunter Homeless Support.
Scone Grammar School secondary teacher Chris Brennan and her husband Tom organized and supervised the sleepout.
Scone Grammar School Principal Paul Smart said it is very important as a Christian school community to be aware of those less fortunate.
"An act of kindness goes a long way and I'm pleased that our school community prioritises support the homeless in our area," he said.
