Contesting the eventing discipline, which consists of dressage, cross country and showjumping, she captured first place, much to the delight of everyone.
Sampson, who is in Year nine, has been riding since she was five years of age and competing since she was eight.
But, she's worked diligently towards this win with her Pokolbin-based coach Andrew Barnett.
Her success in the 1 Star 105cm class was built upon an 11th place finish in the Sydney Inter School Championships earlier in the year and follows a second at the Denman Horse Trials the week prior to the Inter Schools Horse Extravaganza.
Schools from throughout New South Wales entered the competition and Sampson managed her first victory at this level, with a score of only 31 penalty points.
"We are all very impressed with Kyarne's efforts at the Inter Schools Horse Extravaganza," Scone High School principal Brian Drewe said.
"She would be too modest to tell anyone of her success but her dedication and that of the coaches and parents from all the schools involved should not go unnoticed.
"Well done."
