Matt Harman and Georgia Hinde were announced as the captains, with Daniel Officer and Lucy McGrath being named as vice-captains.
The election process involved several weeks of nominations, principal interviews and speeches in front of pupils, all followed by rounds of both student and staff voting.
"I'm excited to be elected as captain and I'm looking forward to 2020 and to be working with this leadership team," Matt said.
Fellow captain Georgia shared his enthusiasm.
"I have enjoyed returning to Scone High after studying at the Hills Sports High in Sydney," she said.
"Both Matt and I got to participate in the Youth Leadership Summit in Adelaide last year.
"Then upon our return, we worked with students from other local schools towards a Youth Leadership Summit for our region.
"So, I'm keen to build on that."
Matt Harman arrived at Scone High after completing his primary schooling at Scone Public.
He hopes to study veterinary science post high school.
"We have always lived on a farm on the edge of Scone, so it is great to be able to represent the local area and school," he said.
"The election focus of my speech to the students was in the captain being someone that all pupils could talk to about the school, whenever they felt they needed to."
For Georgia, who has grown up in Middlebrook and completed her primary schooling at Scone Public, her focus was on encouraging students and teachers to look at different ways of learning.
Newly-announced vice-captain Lucy McGrath has a keen interest in becoming a primary school teacher.
Having always lived in Scone, she's completed her education to date at Scone Public and Scone High.
The focus of Lucy's election approach was on encouraging students to be considerate of each other.
Her fellow vice-captain Daniel Officer enrolled at Scone High after completing his junior secondary studies at other schools in the area.
"It's been a great move, coming to Scone High and I am pleased to be able to represent the students," he said.
Developing youth leadership is a growing focus across the region, explained Scone High principal Brian Drewe.
"It is a credit to our previous principal Lindy Hunt, along with schools and organisations right across the Upper Hunter, that much more time and value is being placed on student-based school leadership," he said.
"As an example, the schools in our region were invited to develop student leadership beyond their student representative councils by sending candidates to the National Youth Leadership Summit.
"Further to this, our pupils have had the opportunity to work with other schools on proposals for the Upper Hunter Shire that represent ideas and initiatives from their peers.
"Congratulations to all of our newly-appointed school leaders and the impressive work being done by organisations locally.
"There is a genuine growing sense of youth representation and leadership development."
