That was the response from Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS) Scone Support Group chairperson Errol Bates after he received a $20,000 cheque from the Scone RSL board earlier this month.
Every dollar of the donation will go towards helping keep the Rescue Helicopter in the Upper Hunter flying as a free service 24-7.
Scone RSL CEO Michael Hollingsworth said the $20,000 was 10 per cent of their bar sales for the month of August from the RSL and Scone Sporties.
"We did this previously for local drought relief," Mr Hollingsworth said.
"It (WRHS) is a vital service for the township of Scone.
"I guess it's something that we don't want to use but we're happy that it's there if we need it.
"It's a very important service for people when they really need to get to a hospital quickly."
Mr Bates said the generous donation was an outstanding contribution from the RSL.
"The fact that they were willing to donate 10 per cent of their bar takings for a month - I think that just shows the character of the club and their directors and the willingness to support their community," Mr Bates said.
"They took $17,000 from the alcohol sales and donated another $3000 to get it to $20,000.
"It was an outstanding success from the community and I can't speak more highly of the club for what they've done."
Mr Bates said the Rescue Helicopter is a "lifesaver for the Upper Hunter".
"We are so lucky to have it here because the fact is if we need an air medical service we've got it within 40 minutes back to Newcastle," he said.
